Take a Tour

This is a true slice of French life, an 11th-century maison forte constructed from stone, but modernised and recently refurbished. The unique design of the house has an open plan dining area, separate from the kitchen, seating 8 comfortably, and giving a wonderful space to entertain and be together. The kitchen has an induction hob, separate oven and dishwasher with a large fridge/freezer.  The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of storage.

The living room is the place to congregate and relax. Ethereal blue skies and green trees bathe in the French light streaming through the quaint window frames. There is an elegant frieze bordering the entire room, hand painted by the owner. Guests can spend many an hour perusing the contemporary art on display by international artists or romantic landscapes in the antique tapestries located in this room. Guests are spoilt here with comfortable sofas, the original stone floors and a characterful fireplace with a log-burning stove.  On summer days the original front door and stone porch opens onto the back garden and swimming pool.

Continuing past the living room, you come to the wooden staircase which leads to all floors of the house. Downstairs you can find the utility and storage room with a washing machine and tumble dryer.

The house sleeps 8, and is a perfect family retreat, with one ensuite double bedroom and a master ensuite bedroom, a small double bedroom and a further king-sized bedroom.

However, these are no ordinary bedrooms.

The small double and the king-sized bedrooms are located off the second-floor hallway. Serving these two bedrooms is a delightful bathroom, with a separate bath and shower, double sinks, and a separate WC. A calming white mosaic has been harnessed for a relaxing atmosphere. The rooms have unique triangular shaped windows looking out over the beautiful views and the ancient forest. All rooms have plenty of built-in storage space.

The two ensuite bedrooms are located on the first floor with a separate WC. The smaller of the two has a cosy mosaic-filled shower over the bath, while the master bedroom has a four-poster bed and a bathroom decorated with dark terracotta and mandarin tiles, double sinks and a WC. There is inbuilt storage and large wardrobes for plenty of storage.

Located in approximately 36 hectares of private grounds, children and guests of all ages can explore the meadowland, and forest and let their imaginations run wild. We can't think of many more tranquil place to spend those late summer evenings.

The owner will accept a maximum of 2 well-behaved dogs, at their discretion. Potential guests will be asked for the breed and temperament of their dogs.

Pool House
Guests have optional access to the pool house; originally a Medieval bread oven, now converted to further sleeping accommodation. The pool house provides ancillary sleeping space and will house a further two guests.

The room is defined by the bread oven and overlooks the pool and the patio at the back of the house.

There is a cosy, romantic outside seating area, for enjoying morning coffee, or for late risers, afternoon tea.

Use of the pool house is paid for as an additional supplement. Please request this with the owner.
